Sound and Thermal Insulation
Compared with other materials (such as polyurethane
foams), nonwovens are excellent for sound and thermal insulation. We have
concentrated our activities for these applications in our department „Silentium“.
Today, we successfully supply insulating materials that are mostly certified
according to the CE standard for ship's engine rooms and complete hulls.
Used are voluminous nonwovens, partly in combination with a heavy layer,
resulting in highly effective sound level reduction across the entire
frequency range.
In co-operation with Volkswagen-Marine, we have developed a soundproofing
box which, in addition to sound level reduction, offers the benefit of quick
and easy installation.

RECYtherm
RECYtherm is a voluminous fleece for sound and thermal
insulation of complete hulls. The surface acts as a vapour barrier that
prevents the formation of condensation water inside the ship. Due to the
very low weight, RECYtherm is ideal for the sound insulation of smaller
engines on sailing boats.

RECYguard
By adding a heavy layer and an additional vibration
absorber to the RECYtherm also the low frequencies of the noise are
effectively reduced and a transfer of the vibrations to the engineroom-walls
is prevented. All this results in an optimum sound insulation of engines of
up to 500hp.

RECYcombi
For engines with more than 500hp we recommend our
product RECYcombi. For this product we add to the RECYguard an additional
fleece-layer which is pressed and has a 3-dimensional surface. With the
honeycomb-shaped surface you get a diffuse reflexion of the sound-waves and
additional insulation.

SilentPowerbox®
Please listen!

now dampens any enginenoise very effectively.
Neither high frequent buzzing nor low-frequent vibrations will disturb your
sleep any longer.
We achieve this with the highly effective construction of our SilentAlu/SilentWood
sandwichplate in combination with the proven and tested insulation material
RECYtherm®.
